One platform, 10 challenges
1. Gender equality
70% of the projects posted on Seekewa are carried out by women
In Africa, only 10% of rural women have access to land and credit. Seekewa is reversing this trend by giving more women the opportunity to carry out their agricultural projects independently and responsibly. Seekewa projects strengthen the recognition of these women's work and increase their economic contribution to the well-being of households and communities.

2. Youth employment
50% of the projects posted on Seekewa are reserved for the 18-40 age group
Every year, 10 to 12 million young Africans enter the labour market where the non-agricultural sectors are increasingly struggling to absorb them. Seekewa is an opportunity for young people to project themselves into the rural world with the opportunity to become modern and prosperous agricultural entrepreneurs.

3. Financial inclusion
100% of transactions with farmers are made via mobile payment
Only 11.5% of the rural population in Africa has access to mobile payment while more than half of the world's mobile money accounts are on this continent. Seekewa is popularizing this method of payment, which favours exchanges and opens up rural areas. All farmers supported by the platform are required to open and use a mobile money account for all transactions related to their projects.

4. Rural finance
Projects starting from $100, fully financed without any guarantee request
Only 1% of smallholder farmers in Africa have access to financing, often with burdensome conditions (guarantees, repayment terms, interest rates). In addition, these funds are in most cases used to meet the individual needs of the farmer rather than those of the business.
Seekewa offers an innovative financial model based on the provision of all goods and services related to the execution of agricultural projects. No guarantees other than project profitability and supporters' plebiscite are required.

5. Post-harvest losses
All projects published on seekewa.com have a viable post-harvest management solution tested by our teams
Approximately 60% of crops in sub-Saharan Africa are lost before they can be sold due to lack of storage, conservation or disposal solutions. Seekewa tries to find a solution to this problem by systematically integrating into the cost of each project published on its platform, a suitable and profitable post-harvest management solution.

6. Crop transport
A community of transport operators mobilized around the projects
Whether semi-trailers, trucks, pickups or tricycles, Seekewa researches, analyses and negotiates logistic solutions at the best possible cost, using the existing market operators.

7. Costs optimization
Up to 30% of discounts obtained are granted to farmers as preferential rates
Whenever Seekewa obtains value through discounts negotiated with its suppliers, it shares it with the project leaders. These farmers always benefit from supply rates that are lower or equal to the best retail market prices. This optimization of costs significantly increases the margins they generate on their projects.

8. Market opportunities
A network of buyers mobilized around reliable production forecasts
The Seekewa model makes it possible to accurately predict the nature and availability of agricultural production several months in advance. We know exactly what our project leaders are planting or growing and the conditions under which they are operating. We therefore make every effort to identify and stimulate market opportunities in order to obtain the most profitable purchasing contracts for farmers.

9. Rural infrastructure
Micro-investments to improve the living conditions of rural populations
For Seekewa, rural infrastructure is particularly relevant when formulated by the populations intended to use it. Thanks to our close and ongoing contacts with the communities, we are developing the ability to gather sound collective needs in rural areas and offer them for funding to our sponsors and strategic partners.

10. Perception of agriculture
A global exhibition and high value-added services to change the perception of agriculture
Seekewa offers small farmers from African villages the opportunity to benefit from worldwide exposure. The farming profession is thus valued, especially among young people who are sometimes very poor but who are armed with the hope of being supported throughout the world. In addition, Seekewa offers farmers services whose added value completely transforms their view of their own business.
